Die beiden stehen an einem späten Nachmittag im Museum, das bereits geschlossen ist, und bestaunen die jahrtausendealten Artefakte.Während Lukas noch beschäftigt ist, fühlt sich Mike von einem goldenen Armband magisch angezogen, das in einer Vitrine ausgestellt ist. Es scheint ihm förmlich zuzuflüstern, und in einem Moment der Neugierde berührt er es. Plötzlich schließt sich das Armband fest um sein Handgelenk – es lässt sich nicht mehr abnehmen. Mike gerät in Panik, beschließt aber, das Armband vor seinem Bruder zu verbergen und es selbst zu untersuchen.Was Mike nicht weiß: Durch das Anlegen des Armbands hat er eine uralte Macht entfesselt. Die Mumie des Pharaos Ankh-Re, das Herzstück der Ausstellung, wird erweckt. Ankh-Re, einst ein gefürchteter Herrscher, erhebt sich aus seinem Sarkophag und beginnt, finstere Magie zu entfesseln. Die Stadt ist in Gefahr.Warum Mike ausgewählt wurde:Im Laufe der Geschichte erfährt Mike, dass das Armband nicht zufällig auf ihn reagiert hat. Es gibt eine uralte Prophezeiung, die in den Hieroglyphen eines Tempels verewigt wurde: Ein "Auserwählter", ein Nachfahre des Hohepriesters Ka-Seti, soll eines Tages die Macht des Amuletts erlangen, um den Pharao Ankh-Re entweder zu unterwerfen oder zu befreien. Ka-Seti war der Hohepriester, der vor über 3000 Jahren versuchte, Ankh-Re zu stürzen, nachdem dieser von der dunklen Magie besessen wurde und begann, sein Volk zu unterdrücken. Doch der Versuch des Priesters schlug fehl, und der Pharao ließ ihn verfluchen.Mike entdeckt schließlich, dass er ein entfernter Nachfahre dieses Hohepriesters ist. Das Armband, das einst von Ka-Seti getragen wurde, hat auf die Blutlinie des Priesters reagiert und Mike als den neuen Auserwählten erwählt. Nur jemand mit seinem Erbe kann die Macht des Amuletts nutzen und Ankh-Re aufhalten.Ankh-Re's Plan:Ankh-Re verfolgt einen finsteren Plan, der über bloße Zerstörung hinausgeht. Durch seine Wiedererweckung hat er die Absicht, eine uralte Magie zu entfesseln, die er vor Jahrtausenden begonnen hatte: Er will das Tor zwischen der Welt der Lebenden und der Toten öffnen, um ein neues Reich der Dunkelheit zu erschaffen, in dem er als unsterblicher Herrscher über die Lebenden und die Geisterwelt regieren kann. Dafür braucht er die vollständige Kontrolle über das Amulett, das Mike nun trägt.Doch Ankh-Re ist sich bewusst, dass das Armband eine Verbindung zu seinem Träger aufgebaut hat. Er versucht, Mike zu manipulieren, indem er ihm Visionen seiner Vergangenheit zeigt. In diesen Visionen offenbart sich, dass Ankh-Re einst ein gerechter Herrscher war, bis er von dunkler Magie korrumpiert wurde. Er macht Mike glauben, dass er ihm helfen könnte, die Macht des Amuletts zu verstehen, wenn er sich ihm anschließt.Währenddessen wird die Stadt immer mehr von Ankh-Re's Magie heimgesucht: Geister erheben sich, Straßen verdunkeln sich, und die Menschen beginnen, in Angst zu leben. Die Zeit läuft ab, und Mike muss eine schwere Entscheidung treffen: Wird er sich auf Ankh-Re's Versprechen einlassen und ihm das Amulett übergeben, um die Macht zu verstehen? Oder wird er einen Weg finden, den Fluch zu brechen, der den Pharao und das Amulett verbindet.
