Professional / ambitious non-professional dancers (m/f/d) for a reproduction / resumption of RING

AUDITION for RING by Felix Ruckert Saturday, 17 June 2023, Holzmarkt Berlin We are looking for professional dancers and ambitious non-professional dancers for a reproduction / resumption of RING from the year 1999, participatory choreography by Felix Ruckert. Requirements: Interest in contemporary choreography, working in a larger group (21 dancers), with a focus on physical contact and direct interaction with the audience. We prefer people living in Berlin, as no accomodation or travel costs can be taken over. 
Salary will be 1.250 € – up to 1.500 € rehearsals and performances, all included. Reharsal dates from 10 - 14 July 2023, daily from 10:00 – 18:00 Performance dates 17 July // 25 July // 28 July 2023 EN: RING is a choreographic reflection on contact and closeness, seduction and desire, simulation and authenticity, on the unpredictability, but also the mechanics of emotions. The piece is an intense and touching journey for both the dancers and the audience. Through affection and generously allocated attention from the constantly changing interaction partners, an attempt is made to create feelings of belonging, being accepted and being perceived in the audience. The moments experienced as "intimate" or "personal" are at the same time elements of a strictly defined, inexorably progressing choreographic structure. The pairing of the performers with audience members takes place at random. Thus, the piece simultaneously refers to the relativity and reproducibility of felt connection, as well as to the unexpected emotional intensity that can arise despite standardized interactions and random encounters. DE: RING ist eine choreographische Reflexion über Kontakt und Nähe, Verführung und Liebesbekundung, Simulation und Authentizität, über die Unberechenbarkeit, aber auch die Mechanik von Emotionen. Das Stück ist auch für Tänzer*innen eine intensive und berührende Reise. Durch körperliche Zuwendungen und grosszügig zugeteilte Aufmerksamkeit, durch die ständig wechselnden Interaktionspartner*innen wird versucht, beim Publikum Gefühle von Zugehörigkeit, Angenommensein und Wahrgenommenwerden zu erzeugen. Die als „intim“ oder „persönlich“ erlebten Momente sind zugleich Elemente einer strikt festgelegten, unaufhaltsam voranschreitenden choreographischen Struktur. Die Paarung der miteinander Agierenden erfolgt nach dem Zufallsprinzip. So verweist das Stück zugleich auf die Relativität und Reproduzierbarkeit von gefühlter Verbindung, als auch auf die unverhoffte Intensität, die trotz standardisierter Interaktionen und zufälliger Begegnungen entstehen kann.
